The Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras released a Handout on Mother Mary

His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore, released an eight-page Handout titled: Why Catholics honour the Blessed Virgin Mary?, prepared by the Archdiocesan Communications Centre (ACC), at the Holy Mass offered by him at St. Mary’s Shrine Basilica on 8th September, 2016 which was concelebrated by many priests and attended by a large number of devotees who thronged the Shrine to receive the blessings of God through the powerful intercession of Mother Mary.
In this handout the reasons for honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary were highlighted from the scriptural and the theological perspectives. A few punchlines from the Handouts are: “If Jesus is your brother, who is Mary to him? She is his Mother. You want only ‘the Brother’ and not ‘his Mother’?” “It is not enough that we honour only Jesus but it is also our duty to honour his mother.” “Jesus gave Mary to his beloved disciple John as his mother. We are also Christ’s beloved disciples, hence Mary automatically becomes our Mother as well.”
These Handouts were made available in Kannada, Tamil and English, and were distributed to the devotees by the Volunteers, especially by the Seminarians of the Bhakthi Bhavan.
