Archbishop spends time for interface with ‘Hosanna’ youth

Bengaluru, Nov 8: Archbishop Bernard Moras chose to stay on longer with the Hosanna youth group allowing for an interface and fielded questions from the youth for 45 minutes on LGBT. Abortion and Catholics leaving the church.

After a mass celebrated by Fr. Divia Paul, Archdiocesan Youth Director, in his address to over 110 youth at Paalanaa Bhavana on November 6th the Archbishop who frequently applauded and said ”faith finds meaning only when put into action and as youth.  Your life should reflect the spirit of Christ and the spirit of the Holy mother Church”.

“Be bold in witnessing to the Faith” the Archbishop said while narrating an incident of the wife of a President of the then Communist Russia who marked the sign of the cross on the body of her deceased husband not fearing any consequence.

To a question from a youth who asked “Can Catholics eat meat?” the Archbishop gently smiled and quoted the book of Genesis where the Lord gave man dominion over all creation but added emphatically “the dignity of human life and upholding faith and morals should be our utmost priority”.

The Archbishop in response to questions on abortion informed the youth of the church view. To other question on the Catholic Magisterium he said “It is heartening to see how people of other Faiths revere the Catholic Church so much. As Catholic Youth you must all the more stand for Christ and the Church by your way of life”. Fr. Divia Paul, Director of the Archdiocesan Youth Commission expressed gratitude to the Archbishop on behalf the gathering for spending much time with the Youth.
