“Get involved in the local Church” Archbishop tells over 300 Youth

Bengaluru, Nov 28: There were spontaneous peals of laughter from a 300-strong gathering of Youth when Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras with a brimming smile  greeted over 300 jubilant youth saying “I am actually 75 years, 3 months and 17 days young” in response to Bangalore Archdiocesan Youth Director Fr. Divya Paul’s felicitation “We are happy to have our beloved Archbishop here who is just 75 years young”. ro-2

Youth from several parishes in the archdiocese gathered for the final day events of the annual inter-parish competitions organized by the Bangalore Chapter of the Indian Catholic Press Association. The Archbishop in his address at Paalanaa Bhavan (Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre) said “You are young people bubbling with so much energy and talent.  It feels good to be here. I appeal to you to get involved in the local church and become beacons of the Catholic Faith by your way of life”.

Fr. Divya Paul while applauding the efforts of the Youth said “You can make a difference by revealing Christ through your many talents.  We are here not just for competitions… coming together it-self is a miracle of God’s love.  We must see ourselves not as competitors but as collaborators in building up the Church” Fr. Divya Paul, priest of the Archdiocese of Bangalore expressed deep gratitude to the Prelate for his “keen interest in Youth” and “An Archbishop who is always ready to be with the youth even with a short-minute notice”.  ro4

At the close of events, Archbishop Most. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras handed over trophies to St, John the Evangelist Church Youth who were Champions of the REACH-OUT 2016 and to the youth of St. Anthony`s Church and St. Pius X Church who tied for the Runners-up trophy.
