Archbishop lays foundation stone for new presbytery at Holy Family Church

img-20170103-wa0026Bengaluru, Jan 03: Archbishop Dr. Bernard Moras laid the foundation for a new presbytery at Holy Family Church in Ramamurthynagar at 10.30 a.m. on January 3rd. The Archbishop spent moments in prayer inside the Church before blessing the foundation stone in the presence of parish priest Fr. Amarnath Dinesh Roy, Deacon Vivian Richards, nuns from St. Annes’ of Bangalore and lay Faithful. “About ten years ago there was a plan to build the Church but everything has its own time and now the long-felt need to build a presbytery and a better office has come. It is the Lord’s will. Today is also the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus and an opportune time to invoke the blessings of the Lord Jesus” the Archbishop told the gathering also reminding them that his Secretary Fr. Paneer Selva Kumar is from the same parish. The parish, erected in 1974 has a population of over 8,500 Catholics. The nuns from the Congregation of St. Annes of Bangalore who run a school adjacent to the parish, offered aarthi while the parish priest Fr. Amarnath expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his pastoral concern and care for the needs of the Parish.
