The Archbishop Bernard Moras Ordained Six Priests

Bengaluru, May 11: Archbishop Most Rev Bernard Moras ordained six Deacons to the order of priesthood  Rev Fathers ArokiaDass, Divya YesuBalan, Vivian Richard, John Paul and Alban Zeo to serve in the Archdiocese of Bangalore and another Rev Antony Sushil Kumar for the Diocese of Baroda. The solemn ceremony of the ordination to priesthood took place in St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral at Cleveland town, attended by 110 diocesan and religious priests, religious sisters, brothers and lay faithful from different parishes etc.

The Archbishop emphasized that the priests are ordained to commit themselves totally to the service of God. He also quoted Pope Francis on two important aspects of priesthood. Firstly, the new priests are to imitate Jesus in every aspect of their ministry, so as to avoid hypocrisy and draw near to their people, always serving them with the joy that comes from being united to Christ. Secondly, to be aware of their calling from among men to attend to the things of God, and thus, experience the joy and sincere charity of the priestly service of Christ. The ceremony concluded with a short felicitation to the Archbishop Most Rev Bernrd Moras, Vicar General Msgr Jayanathan and Msgr C Francis by the new priests. The Archbishop also greeted and welcomed the new priests with a rose. The celebrations concluded with a festive meal.
