Bangalore 22 July: It was on the 22nd of July 2004, thirteen years back, Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras was appointed as the Archbishop of Bangalore. This year as the shepherd ventures to his 14th year to shepherd of the flock of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, a thanksgiving Mass was offered on behalf of the occasion by the Archbishop Bernard Moras at the clergy home. The inmate priests of the Clergy Home along with the fathers Msgr. C. Francis, Xavier Manavath, Anthony swami, Joseph Menezes, Patrick Pinto, Mariappa Gregory, and Paneer Selva Kumar concelebrated the Mass. Fr Joseph Menezes delivered the homily, as it was the feast day of St Mary Magdalene. He said, “Mary Magdalene is the apostle of the apostles. She courageously bore witness of our Risen Lord”. In the similar way our Archbishop boldly and courageously addressed all the issues of the Archdiocese of Bangalore for the greater glory of God.
On this beautiful day Archbishop Bernard Moras was also felicitated by the staff members of the Archbishop’s house in which the Prelate thanked God for choosing him to lead the (Faithful) flock entrusted to him in the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Further he addressed the staff by saying, “Everyone must strive and be responsible for the work which is entrusted to him or her and thus contribute for the smooth functioning of the archdiocese of Bangalore”.
