Archbishop Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras Felicitates SSLC and PUC Meritorious

17th September 2017: The Archdiocesan Board of Education (A.B.E) administers 23 Nursery Schools, 49 Primary Schools, 31High Schools, 15 PU Colleges, 01 Degree College, 03 Community Colleges and 04 Technical Training Institutes altogether 126 institutions belonging to the Archdiocese of Bangalore.

The Felicitation of Meritorious Students is part of the ABE activity every year. On this great day, Meritorious Catholic students of Std X/ SSLC and Std XII/ II PUC will be felicitated. This undertaking continues till today with the support, guidance and assistance of our beloved Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore. The Felicitation of Meritorious Students 2016-17 was held on 17.09.2017 at 4.00 pm at St. Germain Boys’ High School, Promenade Road, Bangalore, on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of our Archbishop taking charge as Archbishop of Bangalore. This year our Archbishop honoured nearly 450 Catholic students.

The programme began with the Holy Mass wherein the Archbishop highlighted the love and mercy of God during the introduction.  The secretary of A.B.E., Rev. Fr. John Rose in his homily highlighted that every student to pursue his/her study and to secure good marks the love of the Parents and the teachers is equally important in the family as well as in the school. After the Holy Mass the programme began with the prayer dance followed by welcome speech by the A.B.E. secretary. Rev. Fr. John Rose. Rev. Fr. Msgr. Jayanathan inhis address to the students said that the path to success is not easy but very tough thus, he reminded the students that hard work is the only way to achieve success in life.  In his key address to the students and parents the Archbishop appealed all the students to pursue courses like IAS, KAS to bring transformation in the society. Secondly he cautioned the youngsters to keep themselves away from dangerous game called Blue Whale and not to become slaves to cell phones and internet. Finally he invited the students to discern their vocation to priesthood and religious life. The ended with the vote of by Fr. Shanth Kumar J. the Assistant secretary of A.B.E.
