It was colossal joy for all the parishners of St. Anthony’s at munnekolala, with overwhelmed peace and happiness within everyone’s heart and profound gratitude to God for making things real, the New Parish St. Anthony’s Church at munnekolala. On 2nd October 2017 was a day of thanksgiving to God for blessing us to complete one year as independent Parish. In commemoration to this, Archbishop Bernard Moras started the celebration by releasing a papal colour rosary made of helium gas baloons and offered a thanksgiving Eucharist for all the congregation at 5.30pm. During his homily he explained the Nicene Creed and its signifance and very particularly about the phrase “We Believe in the one and one only catholic and apostolic church.” And he blessed the whole congregation by papal blessing.

A year before on the same day Archbishop showed his humble gesture to God for giving  St.Anthony to the world and as a patron saint for people of munnekolala , by building a magnificent church and dedicated to St.Anthony the miracle worker and installing the first Parish Priest Fr.Anthony Mahendran.G and in a year time also bringing the holy relic of St.Anthony to the New Parish.

Number of micacles have taken place in the lives of devoties those who visited the New Church and placed their petition during this one year time, because of time constraint among all those letters only two or three thanksgiving letter where selected and read during anniversary day mass.

Archbishop during his speech recalled the trible blessings of God, that showered on people of munnekolala, and to dynamise the memory of the great day and great saint and to continue the evangilization through the devotion to St.Anthony, he had released  two important items one the Parish Christian hymn book composed for both litugical and para-liturgical celebrations and another item was the book mark with seven quotational marks of St.Anthony and with a prayer to St. Anthony the miracle worker of munnekolala.
