The Blessing and Inauguration of Carlo Cavina School, Adigondanahalli (16.10.2017)
16th October 2017: The Solemn Blessing and Inauguration of Carlo Cavina school, Adigondanahalli took place on 16th October 2017 Monday at 4 PM. Many dignitaries from various walk witnessed the ceremony. The entire programme took place in two parts. First, the Rite of the blessing and secondly, the Formal Meeting. His Excellency Archbishop Bernard Moras officiated the blessing ceremony.
His Excellency was received by sisters, Daughters of St. Francis De sales in their convent. Superior General Mother Phina Kuruvilla received His Lordship by giving a bouquet.
At the main entrance of the new school building the Archbishop and the dignitaries were given a formal welcome.
After a short introduction on the Blessing the commentator requested the Archbishop to lead the gathering in the blessing. The choir invoked the assistance of the Holy Spirit by singing a hymn. After the introductory prayers, reading of the Gospel and the prayer of intercessions, the Superior General of the sisters, Mother Phina Kuruvilla Inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. His Excellency blessed the plaque. Provincial superior Rev. Sr. Celine Kunnel was present . Thereafter, the dignitaries lit the traditional lamp.
His Excellency continued the blessing of the school building and Rev. r. Charles Inakius, the Parish priest of St. Joseph parish Adigondanahalli assisted him in the same. The ceremony was concluded with a short prayer and a thanksgiving hymn. A large crowd of Rev. fathers, sisters, parents and students witnessed the entire ceremony.
After the conclusion of the Rite of the Blessing His Excellency Archbishop, Superior General Mother Phina and all the dignitaries were led to the school auditorium in a procession for the formal meeting.
The formal session began by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer dance by the children of Carlo Cavina school. Sr. Celine Kunnel the Provincial Superior of DSFS proposed the welcome note and dignitaries were honoured by staff members of the school.
Honourable Home Minister Sri. RamaLinga Reddy was the Chief Guest of the Formal Meeting. In his address to the gathering he spoke about the need of English education and appreciated the services of Christian missionaries in the field of education all over India and in the state of Karnataka. He stressed upon the point that it is very important to note that this school is opened in such remote village and hence the motive behind is not money but service. His Excellency and all the speakers of the day unanimously highlighted one point that the parents should be role models to the children and cooperate with the school for its progress ahead. Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Archbishop, and the Honourable Home minister left the school after the formal session and refreshment.
