Blessing of the Renovated Church and the Annual Feast of Patron of St. Jude Thaddeus at Karahalli

The 5th of November 2017 was an auspicious day for the parishioners of St. Jude’s Church, Karahalli which lies at the foothills of Nandihills. The Parish community celebrated of their patron annual feast of St. Jude Thaddeus along with the blessing of the renovated Church. His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Archbishop of Bangalore graced the occasion. The day’s celebration began at 10.30 a.m. with the inauguration of the renovated church by cutting the ribbon by the Archbishop. Thereafter the Holy Mass began in which the altar and the tabernacle was blessed. During the homily His Grace highlighted the importance of the temple of God as a place of prayer and of faith which brings Christian community together as children of one and only God. After which he explained how can one follow our master Jesus Christ in style of St. Jude Thaddeus by giving of one’s life for sake of Christ. There were 17 concelebrants from religious congrgations and many religious brothers and sisters participated in the Solemn Eucharist.

After the Holy Mass felicitation programme was conducted for all contributed significantly for the renovation of the church. Especially His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras for his constant support and Rev. Fr. Martin Kumar, the Financial Administrator of Archdiocese of Bangalore for his guidance. Rev. Fr. Peter D’Souza, Cmf, the Vice Provincial of the Claretians of Bangalore Province was felicitated by the parishioners. Fr. Fredrick Corea, cmf the former Parish Priest and the Present Parish Priest the Fr. Valentine Anthony Raj, cmf were felicitated by the Archbishop for their efforts in realizing the project. At the end the Parish Priest wished the gathering happy feast of the Patron saint St. Jude Thaddeus and thanked everyone for their presence, prayers and their contributions in various ways. The Eucharistic sacrifice was attended by large group of people coming for far and wide. A fellowship meal was served at the end of the Mass.
