Archbishop Rev. Dr.Bernard Moras with the Orphan Children

3rd December 2017: Catholic Club of Bangalore, has the unique distinction of hosting a programme for the less privileged every year since past over 30 years. This is in keeping with one of the objectives of the Club. The Catholic Club Orphans Trust (CCOT) was formed 39 years ago. It supports 10 Orphanages with providing; to name a few, it finances  a Soft Skill training programme for over 600 children, costing  Rs. 7.20 Lakhs per year;  besides this, it provides capital equipment on need based basis to the institutions by gifting them, Tables and Benches, Water Filter, Solar Water Heater etc.,  and its signature programme is the Christmas Party.

The Christmas programme of CCOT began on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017; with  600 children from 9 orphanages at the Club. The day began with Breakfast, Talent Contest, Snack break, Lunch and dessert of Ice Cream; followed by a presentation of a Goody bag containing various hygiene  items like Soap, Shampoo, Cream, Lip balm etc besides Biscuits, Sweets, Chocolates, Cotton candy, Popcorn  and Gifts of Bata Shoes, Bata Hawaii Slippers and Sweater to all the children.

This year after the children had finished their Lunch, the Vicar General of Bangalore Archdiocese, Msgr Jayanathan, who educated the children and us with a unique way of remembering certain aspects of Catholic faith.  He also taught them a song. This was followed by a visit of our Patron Archbishop; His Grace Bernard Moras, who interacted, came up with an Instant Quiz for the Children. The children were enthused and eager to answer all the questions. As the Archbishop was entertaining the children and the children responded him with enthusiasm. The entire celebration was ended up with final the Blessing of the Archbishop.
