Archbishop Most Rev Dr. Bernard Moras Celebrated Dimond Jubilee Holy Mass for Rev Fr Lawrance Noronha

20 March 2018: The Archbishop Most Rev Dr. Bernard Moras celebrated solemn Eucharist at 5:00 pm and offered a special prayers for Rev Fr Lawrance Noraonha, (Spiritual director of Bhakti Bhavan the Archdiocesan Minor Seminary)  in view of his 60 years of  Priestly Anniversary. The priests from CCBI, NBCLC, Ascention Church and also some of the priests belong to the Archdiocese of Bangalore concelebrated at this Eucharist. The  presence of the relatives of Rev Fr Lawrance Noronha added more colour to this celebration.  This celebration was anticipated, because of the Minor Seminarians who would had to go for  holidays at the end of March. The actual date of his ordination was 13-04-1958. The Archbishop in his homily said, Eucharistic Sacrifice is the highest form of Thanksgiving to God which cannot be replaced with some other thing. Therefore, we have this thanksgiving Holy Mass today.

The second part of the celebration was the Cultural programme by the Minor Seminarians and the felicitation to the Jubilarian by the Archbishop and the Rector and Vice Rector of the Minor Seminary. The Rector Fr Christopher Vimal Raj having welcomed the gathering shared about his sweet memories that he had with Fr Lawrance. He expressed that he experienced the fatherly characters in the person of  Fr Lawrance and he appreciated the wonderful collaboration that  he received from Fr  Lawrance.

The Archbishop narrated the tragic accident that took place in the life of Fr Lawrence and how he was saved by the good Samaritan who admitted Fr Lawrance in St John’s hospital. Further the Prelate addressed the gathering by saying, Fr Lawrance is a Historian having plenty of  knowledge about the history of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and  the Archdiocese of Bangalore remain grateful to the  services rendered by Fr Lawrence Norohna said the Archbishop.

The central point of attraction of the celebration was the heart touching speech of the Jubilarian Fr Lawrance. He spoke about the tenderly care and loving attitude of his mother who was a great inspiration to him to reach the altar of the Lord. He also sronly, said to the minor seminarians to take up the formation with the right spirit and thus persevere in their vocation. The entire celebration ended up with the Vote of thanks by the Vice Rector Fr Vivian Monis and sumptuous dinner.
