Archbishop Blesses Magnificient New Church at Adigondanahalli

Bengaluru, May 01: There were spells of rejoicing and prayers of gratitude to God amidst the Faithful of St. Joseph’s Church in Adigondanahalli on Hosur road while Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras blessed opened the newly constructed Church and administered the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation to 45 children on 01st May. The Prelate who is spiritual head to over 4 million Catholics in the Archdiocese drew the attention of over 750 Faithful gathered, to the importance of worshipping as a community of believers. “All through the old Testament and through the new Testament we see how people worshiped with much Faith and fervor in the temple in order to get closer to God. A Church is an important place where in unison the people of God lift up their hearts and minds to God. We are blessed by God to have such a magnificiently constructed Church dedicated to St. Joseph”.

The Prelate expressed gratitude to the Faithful for their prayers and also thanked the Parish Priest Fr. Valan for his untiring efforts in helping build the church costing almost 5 crores. Dean Fr. Sahayaraj from the Archdiocese, along with several priests and nun from neighboring parishes and communities joined in the celebrations. The Archbishop expressed his wishes to Fr. Valan who is on a transfer for a new mission in Thailand and welcomed the next parish priest Fr. Ignatius.  He also thanked the Faithful and donors for their prayers, contribution and co-operation. The Archbishop was felicitated after the Eucharistic celebration.
