GALAXY OF GUESTS GREET ARCHBISHOP ON BIRTHDAY

Bengaluru 10 August 2017: Commencing on a Spiritual note, Archbishop Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras began the day on his 76th birthday with the Holy Mass at the Clergy Home Chapel in the Archbishops House, at 7 am, with over of 40 priest delegates attending, including the Vicars General Monsignor C Francis and Monsignor           S Jayanathan and the Chancellor Fr. A S Anthonyswamy.

He was seen to been vibrant and full of energy even as a plethora of guests greeted him. The Archbishop prayed for all the people in the state of Karnataka. Over a thousand guests greeted him through late evening.

During the day, Bishop of Karnataka Central Diocese Prasanna kumar Samuel, State Former Home Minister and KPPC Minister G. Parmeshwar, Urban Development Minister K J George, the Commissioner of Police T. Suneel Kunar and several other statesmen, police officers and members of various organizations including nuns and members from various parishes called upon the Archbishop.

The Archbishop officiated the Holy Eucharist, con-celebrated by 50 priestsat 6:00 pm, at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral in which the Rector of St Joseph Institute Fr. Antony Joseph (SJ), in his homily commented on the importance of religious leaders going in search of the lost and lonely and drew reference to the efforts of the Archbishop who has spent much of his time and efforts over the many years in reaching out to those in need of succor and strength from the Lord.

There was also a public function arranged in St Germains institution situated at Promenade road, Frazer town at 7:30 pm to wish the Archbishop Bernard Moras. The Bishop of BelieversChurch Samuel Mathew, the farmer DG and IG Shanker Bidari, Managing Director and Chief Excecutive Officer of Syndicate Bank Mr Melwyn Rego, Priests,Relious Sisters, Lay Faithful and other invited guests were present. The Deputy Commissioner of Coorg Mr Vincent D’Souza greeted the Archbishop followed by the cake cutting. The Archbishop while addressing the gathering said, “We will face challenges to our faith. Only in suffering we will have victory. Therefore let us work hard to build the Church”. The celebration ended up with delicious dinner arranged for all.
