All Souls Day

2nd November 2017: “Pray for the souls and obtain plenary indulgences” was the call resounded in the cemetery of priests in the Archdiocese of Bangalore, at Sacred Heart Church at Richmond Road.

Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras the Archbishop of Bangalore celebrated the Holy Mass at 10:30 am. Vicar General Rev Msgr Jayanathan and other Priests of the Archdiocese concelebrated in the Eucharistic banquet. Nearly 300 and more faithful took part in this Eucharistic Sacrifice and paid respect and pray for the departed souls (Archbishops, Bishops, and Priests) who had served in terms of spiritual and moral development of the faithful in the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Archbishop in his homily said, “We are the pilgrim church and must always head towards the heavenly Jerusalem to the heavenly city”.

Every celebration goes on smoothly because of the efforts of many faithful who toil for it, day in and day out. There were many hands that came together in namely Rev Fr Jerome Stanislaus the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church the Parish Clergy and Parishners, who had arranged for the Holy Mass. The choir and the liturgy was led by Bhakti Bhavan Brothers (The Archdiocesan Minor Seminary) under the abled leadership of Rev Frs Christopher Vimal raj the Rector, Fr Vivian Monis the Vice Rector and Fr Lawrence Noronha the Spiritual director who were instrumentals in raising our voices as a song of thanking to God. The participants were served with the refreshments after the Holy Mass.
