The Golden Jubilee Celebration of Prema Mandira Convent (Canossian Daughters of Charity)

The Canossian sisters of Prema Mandira convent celebrated the golden jubilee of their convent on 7th November 2017. The main event of the day was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The main celebrant was His Grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore.

The Archbishop arrived at the convent at 10.45 am. Sr. Dafini Anto, the Superioir of the house presented him the bouquet. The provincial council together with the community welcomed the Archbishop. The concelebrated Holy Mass started at 11.00 am, nine priests concelebrated with the Archbishop. The special invitees for the occasion were the Clergy who are rendering their service to the sisters, the sisters of neighbouring convents and the well wishers of the community. A group of lay people who attend the daily Holy Mass in the convent chapel were also present. During the Holy Eucharist, the Archbishop preached the homily, focusing on the biblical background and the significance of jubilee celebration connecting it with the three readings of the day, he said,”Be grateful to God for His continues guidance. Faithfulness to Him will fetch abundance of fruits to work in the wine yard” of the Lord”. He thanked the sisters for the service they render in the parishes of St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral and the Annunciation Church, Nandidurga road.

After the Holy Eucharist the Archbishop and all the invitees gathered in the community dining hall. Sr. Gertrude Michael the provincial Superior felicitated the Archbishop in view of his Sacerdotal Golden Jubilee of Ordination which will be celebrated on the 6th December 2017. The Archbishop spoke a few words felicitating and appreciating the sisters.  After having blessed and shared the meal the Archbishop left about 1.30 pm.
