Gracious Presence of Most Rev. Archbishop Bernard Moras for the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Stella Maris School.

“Stella Maris School” Bangalore, had an unique, grace–filled opportunity to celebrate it’s  Diamond Jubilee to render thanks to God for the “Streams of Blessings” received during the past 60 years! The humble beginning of this educational institution in 1957, by Sr. Maria Colela and 3 other Sisters of Charity, and only with 27 students, has grown into a mighty tree, (enterprise) offering value based education for thousands of students all these years (2506 in 2017) touching their lives towards a positive living, enabling them to make their lives meaningful, a gift to others.

As an expression of gratitude for this unique gift, a Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was held on 14th October for the Catholic students, for their parents as well for the teachers. So too  a cultural program was organized on 24th November, (at 5.30 p.m) presided over by the Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore, Rev. Dr. Sr. Matilda Monteiro  Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province  and Mrs. Padmavathi Narasimha Murthy – the Deputy Mayor of Bangalore.

Among the  lively songs, colourful  dances and items, the most significant one which touched the hearts of all was  the item “Beyond the Frontiers” which depicted  how the values learnt in the school have affected the students positively,  making  their lives meaningful and useful to others.

The Archbishop on this occasion appreciated the achievement of the institution of its aim and encouraged to continue the same in the future. He also stressed the importance of the value based education and thanked the teachers and the parents for their selfless service and generous cooperation. The program ended with a note of thanksgiving to Mary – the ‘Star of the Sea’ who protects and guides every initiative and every child who enters the portals of ‘Stella Maris’.
