Report of St Mary’s Orphanage day and 50th Year Celebration of Ordination of His Grace Archbishop of Bangalore Celebrated on the 13th December 2017.

13th December 2017. This year St. Mary’s Orphanage day was celebrated on Wednesday the 13^th December, 2017.

It was very special for us as our St.Mary’s Orphanage Day coincided with the 50^th year of Ordination of our Bishop His Grace Dr. Bernard Moras who humbly joined us for the celebration.

To mark the ocassion 50 boys of the St. Mary’s Orphanage were dressed in golden colour shirts and 50 ladies were dressed in golden coloured sarees, fifty gifts.  The decorations were also apt for the ocassion.

The Holy mass to mark the ocassion was celebrated by Chancellor very Rev.Fr. Anthony Swamy alongwith Director Rev. Fr. Deva Kumar, Manager Rev.Fr. Rayappa, Rev.Fr. Jayraj and Rev.Fr.Anthony Praveen.

Immediately after the mass, entertainment programme commenced with a welcome speech by The Director Rev. Fr. Deva Kumar.  This was followed by an address by His Grace the Archbishop His advice/suggestions were well received by the boys, staff and parents.  We are grateful to the Archbishop for choosing to join us to celebrate his 50^th year of Ordination alongwith St. Mary’s Orphanage day and thus making it a very special Day, we were all humbled by the experience.

After the speech by the Bishop His grace humbly agreed to cut the cake to a thunderous applause by the boys and staff.

Our orphanage boys presented a colourful dance recital dressed in female attire and also other dance by the boys based on the latest popular linguistic songs.  Our boys also presented a beautiful skit which was very entertaining.

It is believed and hoped that His grace was entertained and had a pleasant evening with Orphanage boys.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by one of our boys.
