St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral Blessed with New Adoration Chapel and Pastoral Center

13 February 2018:  Archbishop Most. Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras celebrated the Holy Mass at, 10:00 am in St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral situated at Servanton circle, Cleveland town. The Prelate celebrated this Holy Mass in view of the solemn blessing and grand inauguration of the new Adoration chapel and Pastoral Center. The Vicars General both Rev Fr. Jayanathan and Rev Fr. C Francis, the Parish Priest, Chancellor and PRO of Archdiocese of Bangalore Rev Fr Anthony Swamy, Rev. Fr Susainathan, Rev Fr John Rose, Rev Fr. Deva Kumar, Rev Fr Shanth’s Kumar, Rev Fr Panneer Selva Kumar, Rev Fr . Robin Kennedy, Rev Fr Naveen Kumar, Rev Fr Prashanth Kumar were concelebrated at this Eucharistic sacrifice.

There was a wonderful response of the faithful that the Cathedral was fully packed with the religious Sisters and parishioners who actively participated in the Holy Mass. His Grace, in his homily exhorted “Jesus before the Last Supper witnessed the great event to prepare for Himself. He not only ordained His apostles just to preach the word of God but He also commanded them to keep up His Commandments and thus be an example to others”.

The Eucharistic celebration was concluded with the felicitation to the Archbishop Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras and Vicars General  Rev. Fr. Jayanathan and Rev. Fr. C. Francis by the Parish priest Rev Fr Anthony Swamy.

The second part of the liturgy was the blessing of Pastoral Center and Adoration Chapel by His Grace Bernard Moras. Infact, St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral was the first Parish to promote the devotion to the Blessed Sacrament when compare to other parishes of the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Fr Anthony Swamy the Parish Priest of St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral gave a meaningful introduction elucidating the significance of the Pastoral Center (Nerve of all the spiritual activities) and Adoration Chapel (Establishes the intimate relationship with the Eucharistic Lord in the Blessed Sacrament).

The Archbishop then solely blessed the Pastoral Center and dedicated the Adoration chapel by saying, “The Pastoral is not for relaxation and pleasure but to cater to the spiritual needs of the faithful. He also said, during the blessing and dedication of the adoration chapel that it is Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament gives strength to face the challenges of life. We have a separate adoration chapel, so that faithful pray better in the silence of the death of their hearts”.

The entire ceremony was concluded with the Archbishop thanking the Vicars General both Rev Fr .Jayanathan and Rev Fr .C Francis, the Parish Priest, Chancellor and PRO of Archdiocese of Bangalore Rev Fr Anthony Swamy, the Parish Clergy, Babu the contractor, John Rosario the Project Manager of the Archbishop’s house, the parishioners etc.
