Archbishop Visits Major Seminarians at Anubandha 2018

Anubandha annual summer camp for the major seminarians of the Archdiocese of Bangalore was held from the 25th to 28th of April, 2018 at Amalagondhi, Sira under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Christopher Vimalraj, Rector, Bhakti Bhavan. Since, our seminarians are undergoing formation from four different major seminaries, Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras felt a need for the seminarians to meet together and build bonds of friendship and fraternity from 2005. Anubandha, as the name suggests, has been a time for true camaraderie and goodwill for all the major seminarians of the Archdiocese. This year’s Anubandha was rejuvenated by the visit by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras. Archbishop emphasized the need for brotherly love and friendship among future priests of the diocese and appealed to them to respect and accept one another.

Anubandha as is customary, was organized in a rural village far from the madding crowd. It began with lunch on the 25th and brief introductions. That evening there was a barbeque which was prepared and cooked by the seminarians, others cleaned the grass lawns on which the agape dinner was celebrated.

The next day the seminarians accompanied the parishioners for half a day. Two brothers were assigned to each family. It was indeed a very beautiful and a moving experience for all the brothers. The love and hospitality that the brothers received enriched their pastoral fervor. At the workshop after the visit, the brothers felt motivated by the experience to become good priests and true missionaries of Christ. On the penultimate day, the seminarians animated the Eucharistic, which was celebrated with the parish community and presided by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. David. After Mass the parable of the Good Samaritan was enacted by the seminarians for the children and the people of the village. This year’s Anubandha was much appreciated unequivocally.

We are grateful for the attention and hospitality of the sisters of the FMM congregation, especially Sr. Nancy Lobo. Anubandha came to a close with lunch on the 28th of April 2018.
